Verse of the Week #5 (James 1:4)

It's getting late, but it's wednesday all the same! Time for this week's verse. I've decided to pick one from the book of James. This verse is here to remind us that our bad behavior isn't excusable, we must strive for the perfection of a Jesus-like character. James helps us with a valuable fruit of the spirit: patience.

"But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." James 1:4 (NKJV)

This verse is a wonderful motivation to discouraged Christians. Through God's power we can be complete! To understand better the setting of this verse, go ahead and read the entire book of James. It has a lot of practical commands for christians in this life. Ask God to help you live by these rules and he will help you become "perfect and complete, lacking nothing."

  1. I agree... James is very direct. pausing to reflect that our perfection is about our relationship with Christ Jesus through the work of the Holy Spirit established by Abba 'our Father, who is in Heaven, before we were created in His image. Life is about relationship with our Creator. wow
